Yes, you can use your EBT card to shop online on the Sprouts website, through the Sprouts app, and on Instacart. You have several options for getting your groceries when you order Sprouts online with your EBT card:
- Sprouts pickup: Groceries orders over $10 qualify for pickup, and for orders over $35, pickup is free, and there is no additional service fee. For orders under $35, the pickup fee is $3.99 (remember that you can’t use SNAP to cover fees). You’ll get store-specific instructions for picking up your order. Most stores have parking spots for pickup orders, and an employee will usually bring your order out to your car. At some Sprouts stores, you might need to go inside to get your pickup order.
- Sprouts delivery: If your order is over $10, you can order Sprouts for delivery. Sprouts deliveries require a $3 service fee, plus a separate delivery fee depends that will depend on order size and delivery type. If your order is over $35, Sprouts delivery is usually $1.99, but the “super saver” option may be free if you’re willing to wait a few days. For orders under $35, Sprouts offers “priority” same-day delivery for $10.99 and “fast” next-day delivery for $7.99. The “later” option costs $1.99, and “super saver” is free.
How to use your EBT card on the Sprouts website or app
- Create or sign in to your Sprouts account on the website or in the Sprouts app
- In the Sprouts app, click "more" on the toolbar at the bottom of your screen and select "account settings." If you’re on the Sprouts website, select the person icon next to your name
- Select "payment methods" and the "add" button next to the "EBT SNAP" payment type
- Enter your name and your EBT card number
- Add a backup payment method for fees, delivery tips, and non-SNAP items
- Add at least $10 of items to your cart, then visit your cart and click "checkout"
- Select pickup or delivery and choose an order time. Watch out for unexpected service fees and delivery fees that aren’t covered by SNAP
- Click "edit" to change the amount of EBT benefits you want to apply to the order
- Click "confirm payment method," then "place order," and enter your PIN
In some states, you can also order Sprouts with EBT via Instacart, a grocery delivery service. If you have Instacart+, you can get free “Fast” delivery on orders over $35. For orders less than $35, Fast delivery is $7.99. Scheduled delivery (Later and Super Saver) is free. But fees may vary by location.

- Anything that’s hot when you buy it, like hot coffee or pizza
- Vitamins and medicines
- Alcohol and tobacco products
- Pet food and treats
- Non-food items like cleaning supplies or toiletries
These rules apply to all stores that take EBT with two exceptions. One is the Restaurant Meals Program (RMP) which lets SNAP recipients in certain states buy hot food at approved restaurants. The other exception is Disaster-SNAP (D-SNAP), which offers temporary benefits during natural disasters.
